Use Winscp [ http://winscp.net/eng/index.php ] and access
"vyom.cc.iitk.ac.in" (Use cc username and password for access)
For a linux terminal (to execute cmds) use putty ( http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe ) and access one of the machines mentioned at http://www.iitk.ac.in/cc/linuxlab.htm

IITK provides 50MB webspace to setup your website at
home.iitk.ac.in/~

ReplyDelete@Rameez: you dont have to configure winscp, just give the server name [like vyom.cc.iitk.ac.in, port 22]
ReplyDeleteyour u=iitk username and password and it will work.
You will get two panes, left one is your computer and right one is remote server, now transfer files between them
